Ticket to Amsterdam

When I think about a country I really want to visit, I always imagine how amazing would be to travel around Netherlands, specifically Amsterdam. When I was at middle school, I had to present about the history of that city in front of my classmates, so I had to read a lot about the past and present about it, and was really exciting when I discover that out there, in the world, exists  a country that have an amazing bike culture, a lot of living-ancient history, amazing landscapes and a diverse culture.

The most amazing thing that I still find interesting about Amsterdam is its bike culture. I mean, it almost doesn’t have any streets for cars, and people are peacefully riding their bikes around the city without the danger of being run over by a truck. It was also funny when I read that everyday appears different bikes drowned on the water canals. That doesn’t happen here.

The second point of interest about Amsterdam is the way how it was born. The city is rounded by water canals. Can you imagine living in a place where the water is , well, everywhere? This city was made under water level, being built above dams that offers a very unique and attractive place where the water canals joins ways of communitation, and not the opposite.

About the things that I want to do there, there are amazing museums, markets and coffee shops to visit and discover, like the Van Gogh’s museum. There are more than 50 museums there! I really want to walk around looking for little details to bring home, like stuff I want to buy, or amazing pictures to show to my family and friends.

The principal point of attraction is, with no doubt, the Red Light District. Netherlands is very known about its very diverse culture based on the night life. In this part of the city, we can find a lot of cinemas, casinos, shops and theathers where people go around and visit, while the good-looking girls are showing herselves through their showcases inviting to come over with all the neon lights and music. Fascinating how that kind of stuff, that are usually very criticized here, are in fact very normal there.

Well, it is a big world to discover, and it would be very amazing to visit the whole Netherlands some day. They have an amazing transport system based on trains. And I like trains! How amazing is that?
